Frequently asked questions

How long is a general admission visit and what’s included?

General admission includes our Sail of the Solent introductory film, and access to our main viewing platform where you’ll also find our glass floor.

There is no time limit on a standard visit, but most guests spend at least 40 minutes with us.

Do I need to pre-book?

We do recommend that guests pre-book a general admission visit where possible to guarantee their visit.

All our other experiences including High Teas and Brunches and our Abseil experiences must be pre-booked.  Please check the relevant experience website pages for details on how to book.

Can I climb the stairs?

The view decks are only accessible via our high speed lift.
Occasionally we run special stair climb events and these will be advertised on our website and social media channels – the stairs are not accessible outside of these times.

Are the view decks wheel chair accessible?

Yes, the view decks are wheel chair accessible, however we do advise guests with accessibility restrictions to read the information on our website before calling us to book their visit:
Please note that the View Deck 2. or also called The Clouds is now only functioning as a pre-booked experience and it is not available with the standard general admissions ticket. To visit this platform, a high-tea or brunch high-tea ticket will need to be purchased.

Do you offer a carer discount?

Yes, we offer one free carer place for every guest that requires a carer.  You do not need to purchase a ticket for the carer when booking online.

Can I cancel if the weather is bad?

Our views are impressive in most weathers, including rain and storms, so we do not offer refunds if you choose not to visit due to the weather.  However we do offer a view guarantee with our Standard All Day admission tickets, so if the view is impacted by the weather to the extent that you cannot see the 3 Solent Forts just beyond the Harbour from the viewing deck, we will offer you a free return visit for another day.  T&Cs apply, and you must speak to a Duty Manager on the day of you visit.
Our View Guarantee is not included in the Single Admission walk up ticket.

Do you offer armed forces or NHS discount?

Yes, we offer 10% off general admission for armed forces and NHS workers.  The discount is not currently available online, please bring a valid form of ID with you when you purchase your tickets. We are unable to apply multiple discounts to a single ticket, note this also applies to early booking discounts.

Eating & Drinking at Spinnaker Tower

Can I purchase food and drink upstairs?

The Clouds Café on level 2 is open for High Teas and Brunches, however this must be booked in advance.
Food and drink can be purchased on the ground level at the Spinnaker Kitchen and Bar which is free to access for the public – pre-booking is not required.

Do you cater for allergies or other dietary requirements?

We endeavour to cater for guests with allergens, however please be aware that all food is prepared in a kitchen serving a wide variety of other food and exposure to allergens cannot be avoided.

We endeavour to provide suitable allergen-free alternatives to our High Teas and Brunches, as long as we are advised at the point of booking and ordering.  Where this is not possible, we will contact you to discuss your options.

We can offer vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and dairy free alternative menus for our High Teas and Brunches.  These must be requested at the point of booking, 48hours prior to the event.

In our Spinnaker Kitchen and Bar, our team would be happy to discuss availability of menu options for any particularly allergen. Please speak to a member of our staff and ask for more information about this.

Do you offer a children’s option for High Tea?

If you wish to bring a child with you for High Tea, you will need to purchase a standard High Tea experience for them. We do not currently offer a children’s version of the High Tea.  Alternatively for young children, we can offer a kids lunch box option – you will also need to purchase a general admission ticket for the child.  To purchase the kids lunch box, please do not book online but call us to book your High Tea experience, to ensure we can accommodate your request.
