Our Sky Dining events are a celebration of local Hampshire produce and Guest Chef Steph Moon put local suppliers at the forefront of her mind when formulating the delicious seven course menu. In her own words, Steph tells us why local suppliers are so important…
“As a chef it is easy to cook something good from something good. The quality of Hampshire’s produce is impressive, the flavours are amazing and the suppliers really do a great job.
When it came to putting together the Sky Dining menu, I really wanted to showcase the wonderful quality ingredients available from Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, and create a seasonal and innovative menu that will both create conversation and be fun to eat.
If the Emirates Spinnaker Tower team had not been so supportive in using local suppliers I would not have done the Sky Dining events even though I think the Tower is one of the most amazing places, a real iconic landmark in one of Britain’s most formative and historical cities. It is that important to me. The fact that the Tower’s team invited the suppliers to the recent launch evening absolutely supported the ethos that it was a real team effort.
I think it is a no brainer to use the local food – the event will see guests look out at the beautiful view and see where the food has come from. Just imagine stunning eating and drinking as the sun sets all around you with a sea and harbour view looking over to the Isle of Wight using locally produced food. That is what’s on offer here.”
