Spinnaker Tower to turn yellow for Cystic Fibrosis

The Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth is turning a brilliant shade of yellow on 23rd June to help the Cystic Fibrosis Trust raise awareness on ‘Wear Yellow Day’ for people across the UK affected by cystic fibrosis.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic condition affecting more than 10,800 people in the UK. You are born with cystic fibrosis and cannot catch it later in life.  One in 25 people carry the faulty gene that causes the condition, usually without even knowing. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity fighting for a life unlimited by cystic fibrosis by investing in research to tackle the condition and campaigning for live- changing medicines to one day beat it for good.

Dannii Hutchins, Cystic Fibrosis Trust Community Fundraiser for the South said: “We are extremely grateful that the Spinnaker Tower is donning it’s best yellow to show support for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust on 23rd June. Our aim is to turn the UK yellow on our ‘Wear Yellow Day’, which falls within our national Cystic Fibrosis Week. By shining its light for us, it means we can encourage more people to get involved this year and help us to fight for a brighter future for people with cystic fibrosis.”

Keep an eye out for events happing in your local area for ‘Wear Yellow Day’ and get involved by taking your very own #CFYelfie and texting Yellow to 70500 to donate £5 to help people with cystic fibrosis live a life unlimited by their condition. Terms and conditions apply
