Emirates Spinnaker Tower announces new charity partner, Pompey in the Community

Emirates Spinnaker Tower announces Pompey in the Community as their new Charity Partner.

The partnership sees Emirates Spinnaker Tower supporting the work of Portsmouth Football Club’s charity, which empowers thousands of people across the city through sport, education, health and community projects for all ages. The Tower will host fundraising activity and collect donations towards Pompey in the Community’s award winning work.

Last season, across Portsmouth and the surrounding area, more than 36,000 people directly benefitted from their programmes.

In 2017 the charity was rewarded for its notable work as it was named the official Community Club of the Year by the English Football League.

Life and Chimes Group at Emirates Spinnaker Tower on Wednesday 14th February 2018 -A project focusing on working with people who are living with dementia, are at risk of developing dementia or feel socially isolated.

This partnership is a perfect example of how organisations can work together to enhance our great city and make a differrence in our community.’

Two icons of Portsmouth, Portsmouth Football Club and Emirates Spinnaker Tower working in partnership signifies a new dawn of opportunity for both. The affiliation will help highlight the City of Portsmouth and all that we are lucky enough to have on our doorstep.’

The partnership begins as Emirates Spinnaker Tower launches ‘Stories from the City’, a family trail celebrating key landmarks that are visible from the Tower’s view decks, including Fratton Park. On Thursday 15th February, Portsmouth FC mascot Nelson will be making an appearance at the Tower along with the League 2 Trophy and two members of the current team, players to be confirmed.

**Over February half term, all those holding a Portsmouth v Blackburn ticket or a Southend Utd v Portsmouth ticket are eligible for 25% off admissions at Emirates Spinnaker Tower. The Junior Blues can also get free entry to the tower during February half term when presenting their membership (provided they are accompanied by a paying adult).**
