Half term is just around the corner, have you made plans yet? Put Portsmouth on the top of your to do list for fun family day out and start your day right here at the Spinnaker Tower.
Parking at the Gunwharf Quays shopping outlet carpark for is convenient for access to the harbour and the Spinnaker Tower entrance. Or if you’re travelling by public transport, Portsmouth Harbour train station and the main bus interchange are just around the corner, and once here, you can easily explore the city on foot.
If you’re already feeling peckish, our café on the ground floor serves a child-size cooked breakfast alongside our regular full English (and vegetarian) breakfast and a range of other breakfast options, from 10am. No need to book a table, just pop in to be seated by our friendly team.
Your Spinnaker Tower experience starts as soon as you enter through our entrance area. Our family friendly film introduces the city of Portsmouth and some of the famous faces who have made it their home. Your next stop is the lift, whisking you at super speed to our view deck – we are implementing strict COVID-safe measure in our lift to ensure all guests and team are safe and happy.
We challenge you not to go ‘Wow’ when you step through the doors onto the view deck! If you’re worried that your kids have spent too much time in front of the screen and have been closed off from the outside, get them in front of our floor to ceiling glass walls and remind them what the world really looks like! With 23 miles of views stretching in all directions, there’s just so much to discover. From the hovercraft powering its way across the Isle of Wight, to the mighty warships of Britain’s Royal Navy, from historic forts to a vibrant & bustling city full of stories and character. And if you can tear yourself away from the windows, then you might like to see which members of the family are brave enough to venture across our glass Sky Walk! A great place to capture a fun family selfie to share with your friends!
Our view deck is a great place to plan the rest of your day in the city, as you can see just about everything there is to do. Plot a route to stroll down the waterfront to Southsea beach and the funfair at Clarence Pier or check out the ships at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard from above – this fascinating attraction is just a few minutes’ walk away.
But before you leave us, why not enjoy lunch right on the water’s edge, at our café? With a cold kid’s lunch box or hot meal option, and a range of hot or cold lunches for the grown-ups, it’s the perfect place to fuel up before heading out to explore.
After a busy day, don’t forget to check out the shops in Gunwharf Quays and pick up a bargain at one of the designer outlet stores before you return to your car.
A Spinnaker Tower family ticket is just £42 when you book on our website before you come so plan your trip now, get booked in and look forward to fabulous family day out!
