School and college groups of 15 or more visiting the Spinnaker Tower throughout November will enjoy a 50% discount off entry, making an educational trip to the tower more appealing than ever.
To accompany a school visit, educational resources covering Key Stage One to Three are free to download from www.spinnakertower.co.uk and provide teachers with an easy to use learning programme, which include both pre and post visit worksheets.
Teachers can also take advantage of new activity boxes, introduced in 2012, which offer an interactive way to introduce pupils to integral areas of the Key Stage 2 Geography curriculum (1, 2, 3, 6a) and English (5) curriculum. Visiting Leisure and Tourism and Business Studies college groups will benefit from a Key Stage 4 resource pack which looks at the various aspects of the Spinnaker Tower business and its relationship with the tourism industry.
Jane Chivers, new business coordinator at the Spinnaker Tower, commented: “Our November schools offer is a great chance for schools or colleges to give visiting the Spinnaker Tower a try and understand how we work to provide an enriching and rewarding educational trip for groups of all key stage levels.”
November school rates start at £2.38 per pupil based on a group of 15 or more, with a teacher enjoying free entry for every 10 pupils admitted. This year, the Spinnaker Tower has also linked up with Hovertravel and the Gosport Ferry, offering school and college groups a 20% discount to make visiting even more cost effective.
The Spinnaker Tower is open daily from 10.00am to 6.00pm (excluding Christmas Day). See www.spinnakertower.co.uk or call 02392 857520 to book in advance or to find out more.
